Hilft wunderbar bei Ernährungskrankheiten durch Mangel-/Fehlernährung (Hungerödem). In Ruanda gibt es viele von ihren Eltern verstoßene Kinder (Hänsel und Gretel), die ins Heim kommen.
Sie sind unterernährt, aber man sieht ihnen die Unterernährung aufgrund der Wassereinlagerungen im Gewebe nicht an. Allerdings haben sie typischerweise ein flächiges Gesicht (platter Schlangenkopf) und ihr
Wärmehaushalt ist gestört (Schlangen sind wechselwarme Tiere).
In einem der Heime wurden Kinder mit dem Mittel gegen Hungerödem behandelt und machten daraufhin körperlich und intellektuell erstaunliche Fortschritte, die allein mit ausreichend Nahrung
nicht möglich gewesen wären. Die Betreuer im Heim gaben den Kindern auch vorher genug zu essen, doch die Kost schlug nicht an . Erst Python heilte die Seele, so dass der Körper folgen konnte.
