pZahnschmerz Repertorium
[John Henry Clarke Presented by
Sylvain Cazalet]
"I should be taken into consideration that not all the symptoms
mentioned under a remedy are necessarily to be found in the same patient, but
that all, or at least the greater part, of the symptoms of the patient must be
found under the remedy selected.
"To explain this, we will give the following example: A patient had
violent tearing or drawing Painin different places, and tearing in the gums
a) sometimes tearing pain ext. into the head
b) cold air causes it and makes it <
c) it is mostly < in the morning,
d) accompanied by determination of blood to the
head.
Among the different symptoms we find for:
a) Pain in the gums: Merc.
Puls. Staph. Hep. Ars. Carb-v. Hyos. Calc.
b) Ext. head: Merc. Staph. Nux-v. Cham. Sulph. Ars. Ant-c. Rhus-t.

twice

examining the symptoms Hyos. or Merc. answer best.
Puls.: Feels as if a nerve is stretched to its
utmost and then all of a sudden let loose again. This tense tearing throbbing
jerking pain shoots into the gum every now and then and makes the eyes water.
The pain gets almost maddening towards evening and early part of the night.
[Dr. Hughes]
Hecla: neuralgic pains after tooth extraction.
[Dr. Ruetlinger]
Plan-m.: toothache the C 2 dilution cures 7/10 of all
cases in about 15 minutes.
The simultaneous existence of
toothache and earache and the presence of salivation during an attack of
toothache are two very important indications of Plantago.
[Dr. E.A. Farrington]
Coff.: often indicated in the toothache of children and of nervous
people. Sometimes you will be led to
give Chamomilla in these cases. You find the mental symptoms
indicating that drug, yet it does no good, or it affords but partial
relief. But if cold water relieves permanently, Coffea is the remedy.
[Alan V. Schmukler]
In odontalgia – in very sensitive, excitable persons, is well met by Hyos.
Throbbing toothache appearing generally in the morning and almost always caused
by a cold.
