ABC Homeopathy/Homeopathy Forum
hello,
Just wanted a recommendation for my 6 month old baby boy who has
suddenly broken out with dermatitis/eczema on his face, hair, neck, behind ears
(cut under ear lobes), tummy, his back and the back of his legs.
At times his eye lids appear red as well. What it looks like is little
red pimples and it gets worse after baths, his cheeks can get quite red and
moisturiser makes it better. He is also really itchy particularly on his hair,
behind ears and behind his neck.
He is also suffering from acid reflux, and constipation. He is not over
weight, he is quite slim, he does not sleep well during the day or night… not
sure if its because of his reflux or him being woken up from the itchiness.
He is on Zantac for his reflux.
He started rolling at 5½ months, he does need encouragement to do a
double roll. He does not sweat and his hands and feet are always quite cold. He
is also teething I think, he is dribbling a lot.
He is suddenly not interested in solids again.
He is a very sensitive baby but also very happy, does not like a lot of
people around him, likes to be rocked at times to sleep. I have also done an
allergy test and nothing came out of that. So it could be an inherited
thing (in Germany allergy test are not done for 3 – 4 years of age)
I have put him on Sulphur 30 C a couple of months ago due to his reflux
which was recommended to us by a classical homeopath. Was wondering if Sulphur
can bring out dermatitis or eczema in a child?
My homeopath recommends for us to go back on Sulphur 30 C but I’m too
scared to try again. She wasn't too sure between Calc. C 30 or Sulph. C 30
If someone can suggest their recommendations that would be much
appreciated and if you could also specify dosage.
Thanks in advance for your help

Your son should not have developed a new symptom if the Sulphur was a
curative remedy.
How often did you give the Sulphur, and when did you stop using it? How
did you adminster the doses to him?
There are a number of issues here - he could be suffering side effects
from the Sulphur, or he could have had some symptoms suppressed which caused
new ones to appear.
I can attempt to make suggestions for a better remedy if you like, but I
would need a more complete case given.

1. Describe in detail the main problem - appearance, colour, shape etc.
What happens, when it happens etc.
2. Describe any pains or behaviours associated with the symptoms.
3. Describe anything that makes the problem worse ie. position,
temperature, food etc.
4. Describe anything that makes the problem better ie. pain is better
for cold bathing or at night in bed.
5. Go through each symptom or problem he has, doing the same thing, even
if the problem does not seem connected to any others.
6. When did each problem start? What happened around that same time?
7. What is his character like? What kinds of fears or anxieties does he
have? What makes her irritable? Flesh out his personality as much as you are
able (age can make this difficult)
8. What foods does he crave or hate? What drinks does he crave or hate?
Is he sensitive to anything he eats or drinks? How does he feed?
9. How does the weather or season or temperature affect him?
10. How have all his milestones gone? Does she have any issue with
speaking, learning, walking, climbing etc
11. How is he with socializing with others?
12. What is his bowel habit like? Any problems? Any odours, strange
colours or stool shapes?
13. Where does he sweat? Does it have a smell or does it stain a
particular colour?
14. History of illnesses in his life?

16. Problems with sleep? Position he sleeps in?
17. How is he with animals?
18. How is he with adults or strangers?
19. What is the family history of illness and disease?
20. What was the pregnancy like? Any odd symptoms or feelings that
disappeared once he was born?
Obviously some of these questions cannot be answered easily for someone
so young. Just answer what you can.

hi David,
he was on Sulphur liquid (amber glass bottle, which had a dropper) she
would put 2 pellets and dilute it with water and alcohol. I started giving him
5 drops 3 x times a day for the first few days and than
once a day there after, I did see results with his stool, not needing to
be rocked as much and also with his reflux when I first started on it....but
than it stopped working once I started him on solids.
I stopped the sulphur cause it wasn't helping with his stool, but just
before I stopped it I did notice some spots of dermatitis on his face. He got
worse once I stopped the sulphur. I shall answer your questions
and await for your reply.
Thanks for your help

Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-16
Hi David,
Hope the below makes sense, thanks in advance for your help with my baby
boy. Im quite worried about him.
1. Describe in detail the main problem - appearance, colour, shape etc.
What happens, when it happens etc. Eczema/Dermatitis – little red pimples on
his stomach, back, neck and face – it feels rough, it looks
patchy, doesn’t seem dry, just red and risen. He itchies his head a lot
and his tummy and behind his ears. He also has cuts under his ear lobes.
2. Describe any pains or behaviours associated with the symptoms.
Disturbed sleep, wakes up scratching
3. Describe anything that makes the problem worse ie. position,
temperature, food etc. – Clothing – synthetic, nylon, wool. When his tired,
stressed, dribbles a lot, heat and baths. Not sure about foods at this stage,
I’m only giving him rice cereal, fruits and vegetables. I am starting him on
Wheat now.
4. Describe anything that makes the problem better ie. pain is better
for cold bathing or at night in bed. Organic Moisturizers makes it better,
sleep and cold water
5. Go through each symptom or problem he has, doing the same thing, even
if the problem does not seem connected to any others.
- Constipation – hard, long, dark green colour – strains to get it out.
Sometimes it’s a really dark brown colour.
- Reflux – his currently on zantac. Reflux has improved now that he is 6
months and on solids, but he still brings up acidity regurgitation that causes
him discomfort. Some foods make it worse and he wakes up screaming, could be
from the acid reflux. Its not projectile vomit.
6. When did each problem start? What happened around that same time?
Reflux – started at 3 months
Constipation – since 5 months and also a little bit when he was born
Eczema started 5 ½ months
7. What is his character like? What kinds of fears or anxieties does he
have? What makes her irritable? Flesh out his personality as much as you are
able (age can make this difficult)
I would say that he is a very sensitive baby, he does not like loud
noise, he doesn’t like being around a lot of people, he loves being on me or my
husband, he seeks attention a lot, struggles to go to sleep without either
having me rock him or hearing music. He does panic if he has anything over his
face, where he can’t breathe. He is generally a very cheeky and happy baby. He
cries when he is in pain generally. Sensitive to certain medications e.g. – I
tried him a different medication called Losec for his Reflux and after 2 weeks
his body came out with a rash and his eyes were swollen/ red. He was also on
Sulphur during this time – so not sure if the sulphur caused it or if it was
helping him get rid of it from his system. Since than his skin has been flaring
up, on and off. He was on sulphur for a while before that medication and he did
not react. But Im still scared to try him on Sulphur for some reason.
8. What foods does he crave or hate? What drinks does he crave or hate?
Is he sensitive to anything he eats or drinks? How does he feed?
At the moment he only graves savory foods, he doesn’t seem to like
sweets anymore, However he use to love fruit, now he doesn’t like it. He
stopped drinking milk a month ago, now he only wants to have milk and not
solids. His hardly eating solids like he did a month ago. He is a really
difficulty feeder, this could be because of his reflux too. I can not feed him
in front of others because he easily gets distracted. He is also a slow feeder
and eater.
He is definitely not an over weight baby, he is tracking on average and
if anything I do worry about his weight at times. He is not breast fed and I
have tried many different formulas. But we have now stuck out with this one
formula
9. How does the weather or season or temperature affect him? Not sure
about this answer
10. How have all his milestones gone? Does she have any issue with
speaking, learning, walking, climbing etc - He was slow at learning how to suck
the bottle, he took a long time to grab and play with toys, he rolled at 5 ½
months, he still can not seat up, he struggles with a double roll and needs
encouragement a lot.
11. How is he with socializing with others? To young to tell. Certain
people he smiles at and some others he acts shy. Depends on their face and if
he knows them. Takes him a little time to get use too a new face.
12. What is his bowel habit like? Any problems? Any odours, strange
colours or stool shapes? Gets constipated a lot, farts a lot, stool colour is
dark green, sometimes even dark brown. They are hard, they look like dog pooh
and he strains a lot.
13. Where does he sweat? Does it have a smell or does it stain a
particular colour? He doesn’t sweat, not that I can see. He hands and feet are
generally really cold.
14. History of illnesses in his life? None
15. Has he reacted to any vaccines or medical drugs? He is always
unsettled after vaccinations and it can go on for over a week or so. Reflux commenced
after first vaccination.
16. Problems with sleep? Position he sleeps in? He sleeps on his back,
but when I check up on him, his face is on the side and sometimes he sticks his
tummy out and tilts his head further back.
17. How is he with animals? He has not been near animals yet
18. How is he with adults or strangers? He can easily cry if he doesn’t
like their appearance or if Im not near by.
19. What is the family history of illness and disease? My husband and I
do have IBS problems; my husband has some skin problems on his back and feet.
We are both highly sensitive people. My body doesn’t respond well to
medication. We are both on lactose free milk. I also have a condition called
endometriosis
20. What was the pregnancy like? Any odd symptoms or feelings that
disappeared once he was born?
Overall good, I use to get constipated a lot and had bad hemorrhoids and
lower back problems. I use to crave a lot of savory foods too.
Not sure if this is relative, but a Naturopathy that I was seeing at the
time I was pregnant use to prescribe me Homeopathy medicine. She clearly did
not know what she was doing because she use to chop and change my medicine
depending on my symptoms and moods. Sometimes I was taking 2 on the same day. I
now know this is wrong. Anyhow she did prescribe me Caul 200 to induce my
labour, not sure if this was a bad move or not. I hope he is not suffering from
it now.

Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-16
Hi David,
sorry just a correction, his skin does seem dry (I accidentally wrote
doesn't) His upper eye lids sometimes also go red and a few weeks ago they were
swollen, but that's come down now.
He also has redness around the bum hole and some redness on the sides
too.
I would consider him a stubborn baby at times, he does gets what he
wants.
His scalp is dry and flaky, I've been putting oil on it to keep it moist
as well as his whole body.
At times he does sound like he has a hoarse cough....his been like that
for ages. Also when I administer the Zantac he always sneezes after I give it
to him in the morning, which I find weird. I would prefer not to give him Zantac,
but we have not yet found a homeopath remedy to help with his reflux. When I do
not give him Zantac, it affects his sleep and feeds, so that's why I continue
to give the minimum dose of 2mls a day. The doctor said he needs more, but I
don't give it to him.
There is an odor I do notice on him, his ears smell....not sure if
that's normal or not.
He does sneeze, burp and hiccup a lot, even still now at 61/2 months.
During pregnancy the two remedies I took for me and baby were Phos. 200
and Calc. 30. As I was and still am an extremely worried and anxious mother.
Thanks in advance
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-16
That is interesting. Sepia mothers actually feel burdened by their
children and develop indifference or an aversion to them.
I am looking over all this information today.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-18
Hi David
Sorry just in relation to his stool, at times it almost looks black and
a bit sticky...not sure if that means constipation
Thanks
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-18
Hi David,
sorry forgot to mention something else about my son and the homeopath
lady I see. After the outbreak of rash, eczema or dermatitis..what ever it is.
Whether that be from the sulphur or losec medication. She put him on Calc. C
30, this cleared up his swollen eyes and dried up his body a lot. It helped
clear a lot of his skin problem. But he was still badly constipated. Anyhow,
that was the last remedy he administered. He is still getting flare ups
thoughts and his skin is still very rough, not as red though, but he is still
itchy on his head and itches is tummy in the bath. He did administer the calc
carb in a qtr of a glass with 5 drops and a spoon was taken from this. Do you
think my son is still reacting from the sulphur? Is there a way to antidote the
sulphur? Than again it could have been the reflux medication. How will I ever
know?
The doctors don't believe the losec medication could do this...so that's
why I think it's the sulphur. But my homeopath doesn't think to believe it's
the Sulph.
She thinks it's the Zantac or the previous losec medication to be
causing the flare ups and also the constipation.
I have stopped everything now, cause I'm really confused, but am still
giving him the minimum dose of Zantac.
It's had to treat a baby I think
Thanks in advance.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-18
It is hard to say what is causing the problem. Sulphur is well known to
aggravate or cause skin eruptions, and Calc carb is well known to cause
constipation. We will need to be very cautious with your son as he sounds like
he is quite sensitive to medicines.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-18
Your totally right David about those two remedies and about my son being
sensitive. Ideally I like to stay away from both of those remedies. I just hope
I haven't done any permanent damage to him. I thought I was helping his reflux,
not starting new problems. As I am a first time mum I am quite upset about all
this.
Can those remedies cause permanent side effects? Or will it subside
after a while?
I now understand how powerful homeopath medicine is. And to think I had
a naturopath treating me during my pregnancy and giving me all different
medicines to take depending on my symptom on the day. At times I was taking 2
or 3 on the same day. What was she thinking by telling me that's how to take
homeopath medicine.
Thanks for reviewing my sensitive son!
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-18
The effects will be cancelled out by the correct remedy so you don't
need to worry about permanent harm.
Yes alot of Naturopaths misuse our medicines, quite dangerously. Mostly
because the only get about 6 months worth of training in them.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-18
What odour can you smell around the ears? Can you describe it?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-18
Hard to describe the odour smell. You know when girls wear ear rings and
they take the earrings off, you can sorta smell this bad odour. It's sorta like
that but not as strong. I'm not sure if it's coming from the cut under his ear
lobes or in his actual ear.
It's not a strong odour, but it's the only smell I can smell on him.
Just can't find words to describe it for you.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-19
What is savory food? Is it similar what he likes to what you liked in
pregnancy?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-19
He loves rice cereal, he could eat it 2 or 3 times a day. He does have a
little sweet, but only if he is in the mood for him. The other day I gave him
pear and grape and he was fine. But I tried him mango and banana and he didn't
want it. Mind you he liked mango and banana a month ago. He loves sweet
pototoe, but doesn't like all vegetables.
Not sure if he changed from liking sweet after calc carb. On sulphur he
preferred more solids and less milk. Now he is drinking more milk
I guess it is similar to my pregnancy, I did prefer more savory, salty
foods and protein. I did have sweet also, but not as much. There was a couple
of fruits that gave me a really sore tummy, plums/nectarines
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-19
Just in relation to that ear smell, it's on his left ear...smells a bit
like off wax maybe. He only has the cut on his left ear, his right looks okay.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-19
Every time I give him custard from the jar and than put him to bed he
wakes up screaming ...I think it's from the milk in the jar causing him
discomfort and also apple gives him discomfort at times too. I think it
aggravates his reflux or causes wind. His reflux smells very sour and because
he dribbles a lot he gets little pimples around his cheeks and chin and neck. I
think from the acid in his salvia
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-19
It is normal for infants and children to go on and off certain foods, as
they experiment and grow. Unfortunately unless they are pecuilar or consistent,
they don't help with choice of remedy.
Even with adults, food choices are so much determined by external
factors, that it makes them unreliable for prescribing.
What I would like you to do, is use Phosphorous 200c for him. I will
give instructions on how to administer it.
INSTRUCTONS FOR SPLIT DOSING
Firstly, you need to create a separate dosing bottle. Get a bottle with
a dropper, 15-30mls in size, and fill it with a mixture of water and alcohol (5
parts to 1 part). Dissolve 2-4 granules or 2-4 drops of the medicine you bought
from the pharmacy into this mixture. Your doses will be made from this bottle.
Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of your hand, or another elastic
surface like a book. It should be a firm hit not a tap. 2 hits is enough to
begin with, and should not be increased unless it is clear that it is needed.
The water in this bottle will 'remember' the number of times you have hit it, so
that subsequent doses will be stronger (necessary to overcoming the resistance
of your disease).
Place 1 drop into an amount of water - I may start with anything from
1/4-1 full cup (62ml-250ml) depending on the sensitivity of the patient. Stir
thoroughly and take 1 teaspoon into the mouth. Throw the rest of the cup away.
This is one dose. Repeat doses would be started from the 2 hits on the
bottle.
Each step of this process can be adjusted to reduced aggravation or to
increase the effect of the medicine. In order to be able to do this, it is
important to measure each step (count the hits, the drops, measure the water
etc).
To begin with, use only 2 drops/pillules in the dosing bottle. Use a
full cup of water. Only give one dose.

Thanks David, will give the Phos. ago. I actually have a proper
homeopath Phos 200 already made up. Its in a Brown amber Dropper glass mixed
with water and proper alcohol ....she puts 2 pellets in the solution. I use to
take this
before Sepia. Can I use this?
So just to clarify, I hit the amber bottle hard on my palm 2 times, I
fill up a full glass of water and place - is it 1 or 2 drops? Than I stir well
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-19
How old is that bottle? I would say you should prepare a fresh one if it
is more than 3 months old.
Place 1 drop in the cup, stir and 1 teaspoon or the equivalent taken out
and put in his mouth.

No worries, will try to make a new one. Or order a new one.
Once I give him the teaspoon, I will watch and observe and keep you

Hi David,
I started Phos today for my son, when do you usually see results? Does
it normally take time?
His been really unsettle today, but than again he is like that too, so
hard to tell.
I'll see how he goes tomorrow.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-21
After the dose of a remedy, aggravation usually happens within 3 days.
That may last a few days and then improvement sets in. Unless there is some
urgent need to act sooner, I usually assess the response after 1 week.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-21
Thanks for your reassurance David. I guess I'm a little cautious now.
Will let you know how he goes after a week
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-22
Hi David,
Just had a question, my son woke up yesterday and today with red eye
lids. I'm noticing it more today though on his left eye and it's a little
swollen too. This was happening to him a couple of weeks ago. Do you think
that's
an aggravation coming out?
Other than that his sleeps have been a lot better, not waking up
screaming and sleeping longer. He did pooh on his own yesterday too. It was a
foul rotten egg smell, but still exciting he actually did one. I hope he keeps
this up.
Thanks in advance
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-22
Yes it could be an aggravation. How was that problem treated a few weeks
ago?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-23
My homeopath put him on calc carb and that seemed to clear it up for
some reason, but the sulphur flared it up before that. The eye gets a little
watery too.
I have done an allergy test and that came out clear. However, he was on
homeopath medicine when I did the allergy test. My homeopath said that the
medicine does not effect the allergy test, is that true?
I thought I should have stopped it.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-23
Also David, you know how I said that my homeopath wanted to put my son
back on sulphur after the calc carb, but this time diluted in water, instead of
5 drops straight in the mouth. Do you think she
wanted to do that to antidote the sulphur?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-24
Hi David,
Just a bit concern my son is really constipated again, he didnt go at
all yesterday even with me trying to help him, which is unlike him and today
again. Today he could only get out a little pellet and started
crying from pushing too much. He only poohed on his own on Thursday, the
day after Phos.
Still sleeping better though.
Do you suggest anything?
Thanks
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-24
I have no idea what she was doing. She was chopping and changing
medicines without waiting to see what was really happening, and not seeming
confident in any choice she made.
Yes repeat the remedy. Because of his sensitivity, I would take the
teaspoon out of the first cup and diulte it into another 1/4 cup. Stir and give
him 1 teaspoon out of that.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-25
Hi David,
I've given my son the Phos today and was thinking of perhaps stopping
the Zantac to see how he goes without it, what do you think?
Just not sure cause he gets a hoarse cough from time to time, and It
started sounding bad again yesterday and today. Not sure if it's croup ....will
Phos help wit that too? He sounds out of breathe.
Thanks
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-25
It should help, but I will alter the prescription if it does not.
Homoeopathy is also about being flexible enough to change tack when the
symptoms change or become more obvious.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-26
He still has the hoarse cough today, it could be coming from his reflux.
Not sure if I should get it checked out with a doctor.
I diluted his Zantac with water today but he only slept for 30mins this
morning instead of 1 1/2hrs. Not sure if it's the Zantac constipating him also
or the rice cereal.
Do you think I need to give him Phos again today for the hoarse cough?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-26
David, hope you don't mind, but I gave my son a dose of Phos today the
way you first prescribe it to him in a full cup and one teaspoon. I gave it to
him at midday and at 1pm he went down to sleep
and slept for 2hrs and when he woke up I gave him milk and he did a pooh
on his own, without my help and it was not plasticine looking either
His skin is looking better too and the hoarse cough is not as bad as
yesterday too.
I think Phos is agreeing with him. Are we able to give it to him more
frequent perhaps? Instead of me giving him Zantac which I hate giving to him
anyway. His condition could be chronic.
What do you suggest?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-26
Remedy may be aggravating him which is fine if that is happening. One
day is not long enough for a remedy, especially if that is an aggravation -
repeating too soon will just make it worse.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-26
Okay perhaps I should have waited, Don't want to cause further
aggravations. Just hate seeing him unable to pooh or sleep. Just don't
understand why he does pooh after I give him Phos on his own and
yet needed my help this morning for a little plasticine few pellets.
Very frustrating
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-09-28
Aggravation is often a necessary step, although we try to keep the
degree of it at a minimum. The cure comes when the person's vital energy
'pushes back' against the remedy's effect. This is in the
opposite direction, which means it neutralizes the symptoms.
It is posible that the Phosphorous is acting palliatively, if he is
better and then worse, rather than worse and then better.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-09-28
Hi David, my son is very constipated again. Could the Phos being doing
this? I feel he is worse than before. If I stop giving him any homeopath
medicine will he go back to his original self?
I feel there is always new problems, We originally started cause of his
reflux and now we are facing skin conditions, hoarse cough, constipation. Not
sure where it's all coming from. How can I clean the
slate of all medicines administered in him?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-02
Hi David,
Just wanted to give you an update with my son. His skin is a lot better
than before, he no longer has a hoarse cough, his sleeps seem to have improved
too.
His constipation is not 100% but I have cut out rice cereal and it seems
to be a bit better. I'm hoping to cut out Zantac too. His reflux is still a bit
of a bother to him at times. I understand Zantac has peppermint
in it. Can this interfee with homeopath medicine?
As for his personality he is getting a bit sooky again, when he sees me
he just wants me to pick him up and when I don't he loses it. I also had some
other babies at my place last Friday and he was not very social
with them. Jus wanted me to hold him or be on his own watching tv. Not
sure what that all means.
Not sure where from here with treatment.
Also I was hoping if you could review my endometriosis case, as I have
been in a lot of pain again these last 4 days.
Thanks in advance

David, haven't heard from you in a while. Hope your well. If you could
help me, my son has woken up with a cold. Last night he sounded like he had a
congested nose and woke up from it a few times.
Also that hoarse cough is back too. Do you recommend something for it
pls?
Thanks
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-07
The real problem with Zantac is that it is suppressing his symptoms -
the peppermint is irrelevent. While symptoms are being suppressed, a person can
never be cured, so the goal is to withdraw the medicine slowly.
His new problems are coming from the suppression of his reflux. This is
a well known and understood situation in our philosophy. The longer it goes on,
the more chronic health problems that will develop, ultimately
shaping (or distorting) his future health.
It is very important to get this sorted out now before that happens.
I would repeat the remedy immediately. Each dose should do something
more than the previous one, unless the potency is not strong enough and we need
to go up. Repeat first, lets see what happens.
Always bump your thread up. I handle so many cases here it can be easy
for a few people to get a bit lost.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-07
If you want to post your own case in a separate thread I will have a
look at it.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on
2011-10-07
Thanks so much David, I really like how you explain things! Would like
to continue with you treating us. I shall give him another dose in a full cup
of water and give him a teaspoon out of that.
I shall put my case together and attention it to yourself.
Thanks in advance
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-13
Hi David,
I've given my son the Phos, but haven't noticed any improvement yet. He
is waking up screaming again, I have tried to stop the Zantac but his sleeps
are getting bad again. It seems as though he still needs a bit of Zantac. I
noticed though that when I stopped the Zantac, his stool was better but his
sleeps and behaviour was bad. Also when I give him the Phos his left eyelid
goes red and his eye goes watery. It can last for days like this on and off.
His stool is green and he drooling a lot lately. Not sure if he is teething?
Would Phos help with that?
He still has a bit of a hoarse cough, sometimes sounds congested in the nose,
sneezes and hiccups too.
What do you suggest I do?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-13
Don't withdraw the Zantac till we are sure the underlying cause is being
cured. It will only create suffering otherwise.
What is his breath like? Is he sweating, if so where? Does his sweat or
saliva stain?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-13
Hi there
No bad breath issues. He doesn't really sweat unnaturally and his salvia
stains around the mouth/chin region
Have commenced Zantac again
Thanks
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-13
Sorry just with the breath, I do sometimes smell the acidity sour smell,
im not sure if that is what you need to know.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-13
What colour is the staining?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-13
Perhaps I'm not really sure what you mean by salvia staining, basically
his salvia makes his skin go red. His salvia is clear looking and when it drys
up on the bibs it can look whitish/clear looking

Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on
2011-10-19
Hi david
I went to the drs yesterday and my son has not put on any weight in the
last 4 weeks and has now fallen below average. I'm really worried it is due to
his reflux.
Don't know what to do?
The dr said not to worry but to keep on top of his weight
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-20
Ok let me look at this again. He shouldn't be losing weight if we have
him on the right prescription.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-21
Hi David,
I've been advised to increase his solids to increase his weight, so the
last couple of days I've been doing that. But I've now noticed his constipated
again, should I give him a dose of Phos? A little confuse
to how often to give him Phos?
The other day his stool was really green too, lately his stool has been
green a lot. Only on Sulphur did I notice his stool was yellowish. His skin is
looking better though
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-21
Don't give him more phosphorous yet.
What did not change on the phos?
Where is he at with all his other symptoms?
Have any of those symptoms changed in any way?
What kind of green is the stool? How else would you describe the
appearance of it - what does it look like? Any unusual odour?
How is his behaviour?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-21
What hasn't changed is his reflux problem - sour vomits, hiccups and
bowel problem
Other symptoms skin has improved, hoarse cough haven't noticed it in the
last 2 weeks, he hasn't been sounding so congested either in the nose
stool- still hardish, its green mixed with some dark colour not sure if
it's black or dark brown. The stool have been smaller looking and fatter in
size. No funny odour, but he has been more gassy and they have been
smelly. He still needs me to help him at times though to be able to do a
good pooh
His behaviour - still likes me to hold him at times, he can be a bit sooky
still at times, he has a bit of a temper and does this grunting noise when he
is not happy, he is very active, cheeky, he always needs to have a
dummy in his mouth or something in his mouth. Doesn't require me to rock
him to sleep. His behaviour has improved a little
Sleep - he has good days and than bad days, I'm still giving him the
Zantac ...but His not waking up during the night anymore
He did have his vaccinations this week
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-22
What happened after the vaccinations?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-22
He hasn't been sleeping that great and just more active, not as sooky as
either times though. I had to give him panadol on the day he had the
vaccination cause he woke up crying
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-22
Also I find it so difficult to feed him solids, particularly vegetables
and he needs to be distracted to eat like have something in his hand. He barely
opens his mouth and he gets full really quick or loses interest
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-27
Hi David, the hoarse cough has come back again today and his reflux has
really been bothering him these last two days. What do you think I should do?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-27
So are you having to manually evacuate his stool?
How does he react to loud noise? What would be the quietest noise he
reacts to?
What do you have to do if he wakes up screaming, to quiet him?
How does he seek attention?
Can you remember what the constipation felt like that you had during
pregnancy?
Describe the painful haemorrhoids you had as well.
What kind of music does he like to sleep to?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-27
He does do a little stool on his own at times, but Often when I hold his
legs up, that is when he is able to do more. He did do one pooh this week that
smelt like rotten eggs.
He doesn't really like loud noise or a lot of people around him. He does
startled at times when he is unexpected of that noise. He does cry when he sees
old people with white hair.
The quietest noise would be someone's voice, my husband and mum do have
louder voices than myself.
Wakes up screaming? I have to give him his dummy, or Check if he needs
burping, give him gripe water or Zantac. Pat his head.
How does he seek attention? He lies on his tummy flaps his hands/arms in
the air and kicks his legs. He has this constant sooking noise that he makes
and grunts. He has a red mark on his forehead that goes red,
it's a nervous thing.
My constipation and haemorrhoids? It felt really dry, big and hard. It
felt like it was stuck, and I needed to go in hospital to get it out. And than
when it finally came out, the blood appeared. The pain travelled
down my legs and back, it made me feel really weak and I couldn't even
move.
What kind of music he sleeps too? Soft lullabies, like twinkle twinkle
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-27
Ok my suggestion would be to get Borax 200c, and give him a dose just as
you did with the Phosphorous.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-30
Just wanted to find out David with Borax, I thought it was used for
thrush?
Also in terms of his bark cough that he has at the moment....I remember
getting told to try Merc sol on him. My homeopath gave it to me but we never
really gave it a go properly.
What are your thoughts?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-31
Also David, do you know where is a good place in Australia to buy the
remedy Borax?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-10-31
You are in Australia? - what part?
I get all my remedies from overseas, I do not trust the Australian
pharmacies we currently have.
Simillimum pharmacy in NZ is quite affordable and postage is not too
much.
I actually posted a reply earlier in this thread, but as seems to happen
a bit recently, it never appeared.
I decided on Borax for several reasons. The main one was the unusual
sensitivity to noise. The second was the greenish stools which are very typical
for Borax. Thirdly, the screaming on trying to pass stool is a well known Borax
symptom. Overall this remedy has a good reputation for all sorts of digestive
complaints, intestinal inflammation, diarrhea, cramping and colic. The nature
of such children is to be oversensitive.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-10-31
I'm in Sydney, would be great if we had a good pharmacy here.
I guess I will buy from overseas, just the post time is what I find
annoying. Would like to start him on this remedy soon, but will have to wait a
couple of weeks before I receive it
Also just about his stool, he doesn't scream anymore...but he does need
me from time to time to hold his legs up and help him. But yes colour is green.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-01
David, I ordered the Borax from that NZ pharmacy. I just wanted to know
if Borax will also be able to help with his bark cough and reflux?
Yesterday his reflux was really bad even with Zantac. He hardly slept
and woke up screaming 3 times. I had to give him Panadol in the end. I feel
helpless and so upset that he is suffering. I'm seeing
his pedetrician next Monday and I know his just going to tell me to
change the medication. So am really helping Borax is going to help him
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-01
If Borax is right for him, it will affect all his symptoms.
There are plenty of homoeopaths in Sydney. I studied there so all my
teachers still work there I believe. It might be possible to get something
through one of them, if I let them know that I had prescribed it.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-01
I wonder if it's worth getting it sooner, just don't know how long it
will take from NZ.
If you can let me know that will be great, he is just unable to sleep
and so am I
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-02
Any luck with trying to locate someone in Sydney who I can get the drops
from?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-02
What part of sydney are you in
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-02
I'm in the western suburbs, but my husband works in the city...so he can
pick up for us on his way home. So north Sydney and Eastern suburbs would be
harder to get too. Perhaps Inner west or city would
be better
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-02
In the city you have Newtons Pharmacy at 119 York St. The number there
is ph.92677889.
You can also try Ken D'aran's clinic Sydney Homoeopathic Centre, level
9, 60 Pitt St ph.92478500
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-02
Awesome, we should be able to get this tomorrow. Btw my son heard an
unusual baby scream today and he cried historically ...so I think your on to
something with the Borax
Thanks for your help.
Only wish I can get my remedy sooner
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-03
Hi David,
Bought the borax in liquid form. How would you like me to make it up for
him?
It's a 50ml bottle
This thread continues beneath the following ad.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-03
Do you have a separate dosing bottle? This would be the normal method
for dosing:
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-03
I do have a separate dropper if so
However, on the bottle it says - for children put 3-4 drops in a small
amount of water and to repeat every 3-4 hours or as directed.
Not sure if it's a 100% alcohol or diluted in water. I can ring and find
out tomorrow.
What do you suggest I do?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-03
David, I spoke to the pharmacy and it is diluted in water and ready to
use.. So if its okay I will use the stock bottle.
Just to clarify I am hitting the bottle twice, putting 1 drop in 1/2 a
cup of water and taking a teaspoon out of that.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-03
Ignore the instructions on the bottle. Homoeopathy requires individualised
and careful dosing.
If it has water in it you can use it as is. Yes hit twice firmly, 1 drop
in 1/2 cup of water, stir thoroughly and give him 1 teaspoon.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-04
I gave him the dosage and 20 mins after he did a pooh with a little of
my help, but the consistence and colour looked better - no green.
Brownish/yellowish
So far so good.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-07
Hi David,
So I gave the drops on Friday and Sat and Sunday My sons stool was
getting a bit better and poohing on his own. However, today his gone back to
being constipated and he has also been vomiting a bit more yesterday and today.
His behaviour has been not too bad and his sleeps are okay.
What you think?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-08
Okay so his pooh is okay today, but his cough, reflux and hiccups are
still pretty bad
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-08
So what is the overall reaction - can you list his symptoms and say
which is better, which is worse, and which is the same. Perhaps give a score or
percentage to represent the change.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-08
Here are all the symtoms we started with
Skin - a lot better, I would probably give 90-100%
Stool - 50-60% better he is able to go on his on, but he does a little
bit at a time, so I may change his nappy 3 times
Reflux - a little worse and vomiting more in the afternoons 20%
Cough - sounds worse and has lasted long this time 20%
sleep - better day and night, but still can't get past 530am in the
mornings 70%
Solids - he still prefers sweet over savory, and cold food over hot food
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-08
What order did all these symptoms appear in (so which are oldest and
which are newest)?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-08
Old symptoms were reflux, sleep and constipation.
Skin problem occurred with sulphur but rectified with Phos
Fussy with solids is a strange one, he loved solids when he was 4-5
months and than became really fussy at 6 months
Also forgot to mention a new symtom has been not putting on much weight,
as of 1-2 months and has dropped slightly below average
Just also with his development, he is a little slow with teething,
saying new words, clapping, crawling, sitting up he does but is not too strong
...not sure if anything to worry about though.
This thread continues beneath the following ad.
Re: 6 month old baby
with dermatitis / Eczema From
brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-08
When did the cough appear?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-08
Yes forgot to mention the cough, it came when he was on sulphur after
the start of the reflux, he has had it on and off in the past. But now I'm been
hearing it everyday since 2 weeks ago
I went to paed yesterday and he said the cough is reflux related, there
is nothing in the chest. He wants me to increase his solid intake to come off
the Zantac. He said Zantac can cause liver problems if he is on it long term.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-08
It could be that the remedy has aggravated the reflux although did you
say that generally he seems more settled?
As the older symptom, the reflux will take the longest to improve
(hopefully not very long though).
I would give him one more dose of the Borax.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-08
Yes he does seem a bit more settled and his stool seem a bit better too
Actually this morning I put him down to sleep at 840am and he woke up
screaming from a loud motor bike sound at 920, so perhaps another dose of borax
might help
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-08
Sounds like there is more to clear yet.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-11
Hi david, hiss stool has gone hard again not sure if it's from
increasing solids or an aggravation?
His cough is still sounding really bad
I did also take him to a baby chiro to help with the reflux last
Wednesday not sure if that can cause aggravation. His been sleeping a lot
though...
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-11
Did you give him another dose? If not you should do that right away.
If the cough will not submit to Borax we may need to try something more
specific for it.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-11
Yap I gave it to give on Thursday just a drop in a half a cup
When he was on Phos it did help with the cough, but obviously not
entirely.
Should we give it more time?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-20
Hi David,
So this is where we are at with my son, I haven't heard the bark cough
in over a week or so, his stool hasn't been so bad, but still not 100%. The
only real issue left now is his acid reflux and also my son only
likes eating dairy food at the moment or protein. The only foods he
likes is rice cereal with prunes, yoghurt, custard, egg, milk, chicken,
biscuits.
Not sure if that is telling us something?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-20
Actually I have been hearing a bit of that bark cough again this
morning. I think he gets it more after I give him more Zantac, cause he has
been bringing up more reflux from having too much dairy products.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-11-21
Ok give him one more dose of the Borax, but I want you to dilute it
more.
That teaspoon you take out of the full cup, I want you to put it in
another 1/4 cup of water. Stir and then give him a teaspoon out of that.
It could be that the Zantac is causing problems for him. Soon we may
need to consider reducing the dose, then treating what changes occur as we do
that.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-23
Hi David, I gave my son the dose yesterday.
Just wanted to find out. My son has over the weeks developed an aversion
to food particularly when he sees the spoon coming his way. Was not like this
when he was 4 months. Things when worse after sulphur.
I've been seeing a community nurse who specializes in this behaviour.
My question is Can homeopathy medicine help or cause this type of
behaviour?

Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-11-25
Hi David,
so here are the symtoms we have left. His reflux is still bothering him,
I think that is why he is now turned off food. He does burp a lot still and
hiccups occasional
He has been dribbling a lot lately and have been requiring the dummy
more. I think his gums are hurting too.
He has been waking up at night too around 3 or 4 am in the morning
crying and sounding congested in the nose. Day sleeps haven't been that great
either.
He bark cough is not to bad but still not 100%
His stool is looking a lot better actually, not hard anymore.
So mainly just digestion now.
What do you think?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-04
Hi David,
Sorry haven't heard on what to do with my son.
So far he is still waking up at nights, not sure why.
His not bring up as much, but it could now be more silent reflux.
His a really fussy eater, only likes dairy and carbs. No vegetables and
hardly fruit on its own
His struggled with his stool today for some reason, it was hard.
A friend of mine was saying that reflux babies are generally fussy
eaters and are skinny. Which is sounding like my son.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-04
Hmmm...Ok I think that there are a couple of steps to take.
Before moving to a new remedy, we need to be sure that Borax will not
take him any further. Can you get hold of 1M?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-04
I rung Newtons pharmacy and they can make the 1M up. So is 1M weaker
than 200c or stronger?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-04
Potency and strength aren't really comparable concepts in homoeopathy.
Potency has to do with depth and precision (how similar it is to the patient's
symptoms). You can go higher the more precise the remedy is,
and consequently the less well-fitted it is the less it will help them.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-05
Hi David, how would you like me give the borax 1m to my son?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-06
Same was as the 200c. Just one dose.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-06
So is that 1 drop in a qtr of a cup of water?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-06
Sorry I meant full cup of water
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-07
Yes that is what I meant.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-11
Hi David,
These last two nights my son has been waking up at nights again. His also
got a bad cough and had a bit of runny nose yesterday - clear mucus.. Not sure
if he is unwell or pre teething. But I've had to give him
panadol a few times over the weekend. He was poohing more than usual
last week too
Does he need another dose?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-11
He shouldn't because he just had one.
He may be teething - what is his general behaviour at the moment?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-11
His General behaviour is not to bad actually. Not to clingy
I think he is just more bothered by the cough and tossing around in his
cot at night. I guess it could be teething, just not sure if it's reflux I
guess. So hard to tell. But the increase in stool is something that is
different
as well as the running nose.
I have been noticing that he touches his ears a lot more, like he flicks
them. Not sure what that means
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-11
That is typical for teething. Ear pain often goes with it for babies.
Describe the cough, the stool, and the discharge from the nose for me.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-11
The cough sounds really dry, still sounds like a bark cough too but just
more frequent coughing. His eyes sometimes goes watery from the cough.
Nose, clear runny mucus, not a lot of mucus but he has been sounding
very congested at nights when he sleeps. I didn't notice the mucus today as much
as yesterday.
Stool, has been looking more greenish and smells like rotten eggs.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-12
Hi David, I gave my son Zantac before he went to bed and he slept a lot
better. Ive actually stopped giving him Zantac before bed time. So perhaps it
is his reflux. As for his stool, it was really green today like dark green.
Not sure if panadol can change their stool colour.
Do you think he may now need something specific to reflux only, since it
is the last issue we have left. His skin and stool is all okay now....which is
just amazing!
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-12
We need to get his health up to 100% though.
I would like to change to the remedy Cina 200c, looking at the symptoms
that have remained a problem. Can you get that and give him a single dose as

Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-13
Yap I can get that.
Just looking at what he has left, would Cina help with the following
David?
- cough due to reflux
- craving sweet
- acid relux
- congested nose due to reflux
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-13
Using reflux to modify symptoms is not how we choose remedies in
homoeopathy. Either the connection is not established as irrefutable, or the
connection is common for people with the complaint. This means such a
modification is of no value to us.
The same can be said for simply naming the condition as well. Every one
of our 5000 remedies can cure reflux, if the pecuilar symptoms agree.
The symptoms I used were:
Green stool
Stool odour rotten eggs
Cough barking
Cough with lachrymation
This gave only 3 remedies, and of those 3 I decided Cina was most
appropriate.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-13
Thanks for the explanation David.
I'll be starting Cina tomorrow and go from there. The cough is
definitely a concern, so would like that to be resolved soon.
Thanks again
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-16
Hi David,
My son has broken out with a lot of little pimples on his face this
week. His always gotten little break outs actually on his face, but it's a bit
more worse this week. Can it be an aggravation or teething?
His stool colour is looking a bit better. But he has been a bit more
clingy, sooky, stubborn and has been vomiting a bit again.
As for the cough, I can still hear it at times. Still not gone away, but
has improved a bit
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-18
Hi David, I've changed my sons milk to stage 2 on friday which is
suppose to have more iron and the protein of milk has more casein instead of
the whey....getting hm ready for normal cows milk. The one he was on stage 1
had more whey and less casein so easier to digest. However since changing over
to the stage 2 he is hiccuping more, he sounds more congested in the nose when
he is drinking his milk. Yesterday for his day time sleep he even woke up
screaming. His stool went really green again, but his stool today didn't look
as green as the last 2 days.
I'm more worried about the hiccups and congested nose. His cough seems
to have improved, but still coughs occasionally. Also when he hiccups his
behaviour is more clingy. So he must be bothered by it.
Just not sure what to do, not sure if I should go back to stage 1 or
just stick to stage 2 and get his body use to the new protein.
What are your thoughts?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-18
What happened with the Cina?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-18
After giving Cina, he had an outbreak on the skin, his stool got better
in colour, cough got better too, but a little bit more clingy.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-19
Ok so it has been 5 days. It is fine to give him another dose.
The skin breaking out while other internal symptoms improve is a
positive sign on homoeopathy.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-21
Hi David,
Just an update on my son, i think he is improving beautifully, his stool
is looking heaps better again. Haven't heard him hiccuping in the last 3 days.
Or even bringing up any acid reflux. I haven't heard his cough as much. I've
gone back to stage 1 in his milk cause he seems to handle it better than stage
2. Will try stage 2 a bit later again.
He did have another break out of some sort of mini red rash at the back
of his neck and hairline. But I'm guessing that's just an aggravation or could
have been from the stage 2 milk.
His been a little congested, but I'll keep track on that
He seems to be eating better too.
I'm really happy in his progress. Now I just need to get myself sorted
out. Thanks so much for your help this year with my son! Means a lot to see my
son improving his health with natural medicine.

Excellent that is really great news.
Now you on the other hand, will take longer lol. But we will get that
done too :)
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-25
Hi David,
Don't expect you to be working today but my sons skin has flared up
again over the weekend. He has red spots over his face and his been itching his
hair a lot. Not sure what to do? But he is bothered by it. The rest of his body
is fine. Not sure if it's from the heat or the acid from his salvia
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2011-12-26
Hmmm....it could be direction of cure. Things moving from inside to
outside. He is not unwell in any other way?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2011-12-26
Sorry for the delay, we had another BBQ today. I think the red patches
could be coming from the heat. He is well otherwise. When I put the aircon on
or put cold water on his face or moisturiser his face gets better. And it's
been really humid down here.
His skin is still flaring up today though.
The only other thing, yesterday He did have hiccups twice after an hr of
his meal.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-01
Hi David,
Hope you had a great start to the new year!
Just wanted to find out. My son vomited a couple times yesterday. He
hasn't done so for a while and he was just not himself yesterday and today. He
is very clingy to me and my husband and wanting the dummy.
I think his reflux is bothering him. I did give him a dose of Zantac
yesterday but I haven't needed too for a little while. What do you think? His
stool was a little green yesterday too
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-01
You should probably give him the Cina rather than falling back to the
Zantac. Zantac will continue to suppress his symptoms and make things worse in
the long run.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-01
Great I thought so, hated giving him the Zantac anyway.
Will give him a dose today.
How do you know how many times he should take Cina before he has reached
his limit? I think he has had it twice or three times already. So not very
much.
I also would like to start putting in writing "how to deal with a
sensitive reflux baby" and include homeopathy in that. Will keep you
posted. Would like to help other mums who have sensitive babies like my one.
And share my experience. I just think sensitive babies are a lot
different and there isn't much info out there for mums.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-01
There really isn't anyway to predict how long the Cina will continue to
work for him, or if he will need a higher dose or another remedy. It is a
matter of observing and adapting to what happens.
Basically you continue to use a remedy while it continues to improve the
patient, assuming there are no new symptoms appearing or some other symptoms
are not worsening.
However I would expect he would need it less and less often if he is
genuinely improving. When a remedy needs to be repeated often, it usually means
it is just palliating the symptoms, and palliation actually harms
the person in the long run.
Reflux is pretty easy to treat in homoeopathy, if the practitioner
follows our guidelines for prescribing.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-03
Update on my son his been waking up crying almost every nap time
yesterday and today. Could this be an aggravation? Yesterday he woke up in
hysterics at one nap I didn't know what to do, haven't seen him like
this in ages. I must say I did give him a little Zantac yesterday cause
he was so upset poor fellow. He was also congested and he has been bringing up
some vomit too.
I thought his reflux has gone but he still has a little left I think.
I know you said to avoid Zantac and trust me I really want too, but when
he wakes up screaming like that I feel so sorry for him. His stool is still a
bit green too.
Is this normal?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-03
Yes if he is much worse then it is likely to be an aggravation. This
might be because the dose was given too soon, or was too strong for him. It
might also be the healing crisis he needs to finally kick this, so how we
handle this is important.
While I understand your desire to palliate his pain, in the long run it
will only prolong his problems.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-03
Okay so we just wait for the aggravation to pass. I gave him the dose on
Sunday and he got worse yesterday. So hopefully it will pass soon. I Will try
my best to refrain from giving him the Zantac
Will keep you posted

I would highly recommend a complete review of your household cleansing
program from laundry powder to soap. There is a very successful skincare
program, with a website that offers a lot of help from users and
health professionals. It is Skinsalivation (note and check correct
spelling) and is definitely worth a visit
good luck
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-06
Hi David,
My son had hiccups this morning 40mins after having his milk. So he is
still having some digestive issue. I stayed clear from the Zantac and gave him
gripe water and that help stop the hiccups and he than burped after it.
Yesterday though he was just soo sooky, clingy and just upset with
himself. I hope today is a better day.
I can't stand the sooky ness some days though, it really is doing my
head in. And I try hard not to give him the dummy, but I know if I did he would
not sooky as much.
I guess I just get worry that he sooks all day long cos he is in pain
and I'm not doing much about it.
ut not sure if you know what this behaviour means he pulls his hair
alot..when he drinks his milk or when he doesn't get his way or when he is
angry /upset or when he doesnt want to eat. He also scratches his ears
till they bleed.
Do you think we are on track?
He did have some green stool yesterday. But this morning was back to
normal.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-06
He just had breakfast and now has hiccups again. So that's twice this
morning already.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-08
Hi David,
Over the weekend, my son has flared up with red pimple patches over his
face. Particularly around his forehead/ eyebrow.
So what he seems to have left now is these hiccups...his been getting
hiccups everyday and now the red pimples.. Do you think the red pimple patches are
an aggravation or from heat or from the acid reflux?
I've been trying to go through in detail for my symtoms, but it's taken
me a bit longer. Will get back to you about me soon
Thanks in advance
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-10
Update today...his face is actually better today...so maybe it was an
aggravation I don't know.
However he vomited twice and a little bit more than usual today. He also
had hiccups twice today.
I'm getting a little concern
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-16
David, my son looks like he is getting his bottom tooth. I have been
seeing a little white appear to the surface, but it's not out just yet.
He has been upset lately, really sooky and clingy and has a bad temper
at the moment too. His stool is really mustard in colour and he has been
vomiting lately. I hear teething can cause vomiting too.
He has been turned off food again though.
Is there anything that an help him?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-16
Repeat the remedy right away.
Can you also get hold of Cina 1M for the next step?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-16
Yes I can get Cina 1m.....
So would you like me to give him the 1m or 200c now?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-16
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-20
Hi David,
On Wednesday I took my son to childcare, he only stayed there for about
3 hrs cause he couldnt sleep and was crying, so i went to get him. Not sure if
he was depressed there. The next day he woke up with
a temperature, I gave him panadol but that wasn't working. On Friday I
went to the doctor, he said that my son has caught a cold or bug from the child
care place and has a fever that should last no more than
3 days and try nurofen. He also has little spots all over his body,
particularly his legs and hands. The doctor thinks this could be a heat rash
from the fever. He is not drinking his milk or eating much at all.
The doctor thought he may have a bit of a red throat.
He has been waking crying, and sounding congested in the nose and the
only way I can get himback to sleep is by rocking him. Ive been up with him all
night last night. He has been very teary, upset and clingy.
His temperature has come down now, but he is still unhappy.
His stools seem okay, perhaps more on the mustard colour.
What are your thoughts
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-20
It does sound like he caught something.
Hmmm....considering the 200c hasn't done anything, I would give him a
single dose of the 1M.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-21
Only issue I have I can't get the 1m til Monday cause it's in the city.
Would I be able to give him the 200 in some way or am I better off waiting til
Monday night when I will get it from my husband?
I think the panadol has now made him constipated
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-21
Bumped
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-22
Hi David, my son had diarrehea once this morning. He hasn't eaten hardly
anything in the last 3 days.
I will be getting the cina 1m tomorrow, however every time I put food in
my sons mouth he either refuses or cry, so his gums are clearly in pain. But
more concerning is that he is refusing milk too. I've had
to rock him to sleep like jumping up and down to actually get him to
sleep a few times yesterday and Friday.
I have had some mums say to try chamomilla for teething, but of course I
don't want too without your guidance. His stools are not green though and my
son is not chubby, so I don't see how.
Should I just stick to Cina 1m? I'm just concern that he is not eating
and his weight could be another issue.

Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-22
Yes we need to try the higher dose. That is always the first step.
Playing around with other remedies can make things worse so we should
only do that if things are serious.
What other new symptoms does he have?
What kind of clingy is he?
Describe exactly what he does when he is upset.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-23
Ok here are his symptoms:
Pulling his ears constantly , ears going red
Does not want to eat or drink without chucking a tantrum.
Wants to be on me or my husband
Gets angry when we put him down or don't give him what he wants.
Has Occasionally needed to be rocked to sleep (bouncing up and down)
Has a really bad temper
Nothing makes him happy at the moment
Has a rash on one side of his face/ ears and on his knees
David, his seriously driving me crazy. I'm starting up work tomorrow and
feeling really guilty to leave him this way. I need a miracle.
I took him to the another doctor again and he said its all teething
symtoms and there is no signs of infection.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-23
The last two days he has been crying all day long until I give him
panadol.
Also waking up really unhappy and crying
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-23
Have you used Chamomilla on him before?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-23
Sorry when he gets angry, he throws his head and back backwards and
grabs his ears.
He is more clingy but his not really happy being on us either at times.
I'm really concern how he doesn't want ANY FOOD...like nothing
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-23
What potencies of Chamomilla do you have there? I would normally use
200c or 1M for this kind of situation. I doubt 30c will hold very well.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-23
I have used chamomilla 30c on him before when he was about 3 months old,
it did help him with his restlessness back than and calmed him down. But did
not help with the reflux
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-23
It is only indicated for his teething, not his chronic state.
You can give him 30c but you need to get 200c as well.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-23
I have 2 pellets of the 30c chamomilla at home
Otherwise I can tell my husband to buy the 200c or 1m in liquid in the
city
What am I better off doing?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-23
Okay how do you want me to make up the bottle for the 30c?
Im putting the two pellets in the amber bottle with water and alcohol as
usual. How many drops do I give him? And how much water?
And just give him the once?
I'll buy the Cham 200c as back up ready to go.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-23
You will likely need the 200c. I don't find 30c very useful for such
intense situations.
2 hit, 1 drop, 1/2 cup, stir, 1 teaspoon.
You can start with 30c right now though. It will do something.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-23
Okay have given it to him...if I dont see much improvement by tonight.
Could I give him the 200c tomorrow morning or tonight before I go to
work?
I'm giving him the 200c the same way as the 30c right...in half a cup?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-01-23
Give him a dose every hour, up to a maximum of 4 doses. Stop whenever
you see marked improvement (or noticeable aggravation).
Only give him the 200 if he is not better tomorrow. You can do that
tonight if he does not improve on the 30c. Wait an hour after the last dose of
30.
Dose the same way for the 200.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-23
Haven't notice much difference with the 30c so far...
I'll follow your directions
His dribbling excessively too
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-23
Okay after giving him another dose
My son actually ate dinner for the first time after 4 days without crying.
Can't believe it
His rash on his face is looking a bit better too.
So far so good
THANK U

Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-01-25
Hi David
His a lot better thank god, I gave him two doses of the 30c on Monday
and than gave 1 dose of the 200c Monday night and than another 200c on Tuesday
morning. I haven't given him anymore since.
His appetite is back, the rash is looking better, his not crying, has no
temper, looks happier and his drinking his milk. His like a new child. I can't
believe it.
The only thing that is still there is, he vomited a bit more than usual
after his milk yesterday morning and had hiccups after his last bottle last
night.
Do you think I need to give him anymore doses?
Me on the other hand am not doing well. Ive woken up with conjunctivitis
after two days of work. I need to get back to you regarding my health. I'm just
hanging in there by a thread.

Hi David,
Andre keeps getting alot of little red pimples on his face and now it's
also just under his neck. I'm not sure if it's a heat rash, or from teething or
from his salvia/dribbling. It was looking a bit bad today, could this be an
aggravation or from all the acid in his salvia u think?
He has started hiccuping again after some meals too.
Good news his weight is still average, it has not dropped. Just concern
with the pimples and occasionally hiccups i after meals.

Hi David,
My son is running a high temperature again as of yesterday, nurofen or
panadol aren't working. His really upset, clingy and has a bad temper. His also
managed to lose his voice at childcare again last week. I don't know what to do
His pooh has been really foul, I nearly gagged yesterday. Also he
vomited a lot yesterday night after I gave him the nurofen...like I mean a ltr
worth of fluid.
I don't know if this is teeth or a bug from childcare again
Pls help...I really don't want to take him to a medical centre.
David I did give him a dose of chamomilla on Sat morning cause he was
really clingy...but that has been it.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-05
You do realise that suppressing his fever with medicaton will only make
him worse don't you?
You need to be more descriptive with the symptoms. What smell, what kind
of anger, what kind of fever, when is he worse or better, what is his thirst
like, is he sweating - I need more to make prescriptions.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-05
Yah I do, but at 10pm last night I didn't know what else to do?
He has been drinking alot more water than usual.
Fever only occurred last night it was high 38.8...has dropped this
morning to 37.4 I did give him a bath this morning too
Stool smells like rotten eggs, really mustard looking
What makes him happy, outside and being carried
Temper arching his back, throwing himself on the floor, so his tummy is
on the floor and his legs are in the air. Also screaming to himself and I don't
even know what has upsetted him. And also waving his hands in the air.
Tensing his body and short shouts
No sweating
He is worse when he is left alone or when he doesn't get his way
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-05
Give him a dose of 200c again. Hit the bottle 3 times, and if you need
to repeat it hit it 4 times.
Get hold of the 1M when you can. The intensity is quite high.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on

Okay so I gave him a dose at 9am, he slept for 2 hrs. But had to rock
him to sleep
However he work up crying at 1130, his temperature was 38.2.... Gave him
another dose. Only issue I don't remember if I put the drop in the water and I
gave him a spoon. So I'm not sure if there was anything in the cup. I was
distracted.
His still really upset and his temperature is high. He won't eat or
drink.
I don't know if it's a throat infection or not

Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-06
It sounds like either Cham is not right or the potency is too low.
Situations like this can get very tricky. I cannot see him and you
cannot keep getting new remedies. If he is at risk it may be better to have a
doctor examine him.
You can repeat the Chamomilla 200c, hit the bottle 6 times, place 1 drop
directly on his tongue. I don't hold too much hope that it will suddenly work
on the third dose though.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-06
I would still like to try one drop on his tongue before we go docs, but
that is my next step.
I did have to give him panadol to drop that high temperature. He was
crying uncontrollable.
I rocked him to sleep again, so fingers cross he will wake up better.
Thanks for your help.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-06
It would help to have a homoeopathic first aid kit at hand for these
kinds of situations. Many pharmacies sell them. Check with me before buying one
though.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on
2012-02-06
I didn't realise you can get one of those. Would love to get one
I'm off to the docs now, he has not gotten better :(
His nappy has hardly even been wet today either

2012-02-06
Hi David, just got back. He has a bad throat infection. I think he
picked it up from childcare.
She gave him antibiotics. I bought them, but you know I don't want too.
But I can't leave him suffering
Please tell me what to do? His really upset
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-06
How many remedies do you have at home? Do you have the resources to
manage this via homoeopathy?
There are situations where it is not fair to leave him suffering. I can
easily take responsibility when I can actually see him but over the internet
there are too many opportunities to make mistakes.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-06
What remedy would be best for him? I have merc sol, not sure if that
would help? I do have some other remedies
My husband can buy it tomorrow otherwise. I have given him a little bit
of the antibiotic just to relieve some pain
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-06
You cannot give him a little bit of the antibiotic. You either have to
give him the course, or none at all. Giving him some could create resistance in
the microbes respsonsible.
You would have to wait almost 24 hours now to get that remedy. That is
24 hours with this infection continuing to run.
I don't think we are in a good position to be treating him. You either
need a first aid kit at home or you need a homoeopath nearby who can prescribe
as needed.
What remedies do you have? It is remotely possible one of them could be
useful.

Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-06
None of those specifically suit the symptoms except Chamomilla.
Chamomilla continues to show for all the symptoms. So either he needs 1M, or I
cannot determine the remedy from your description.
Remedies that seem like Chamomilla are Staphysagria, Colocynthis,
Nux-vomica, Cina. None of which you have with you.
Maybe in a pinch you could try Puls, but Puls is soft where Cham is
hard. No remedy really substitutes for another. Sometimes I find parents
describe a Cham child when it is actually Puls.
Anger is the key feature of Chamomilla, nothing pleases them, they are
so mad! The pain makes them mad, they hit you, they seem to hate you, but at
the same time you cannot put them down or leave them alone. They have to be
carried around fast, rocked continuously, nothing entertains them for long.
So all I can see from your description is Chamomilla.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-06
Just don't let yourself get into trouble here. I cannot provide all the
remedies you need. You just don't have enough to deal with an emergency like
this. Unfortunately you may need to rely on orthodox medicine this time.
You can always get 1M tomorrow so you have it for later.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-06
Oh no, I don't think I can get a fist aid kit in time... I'm afraid it's
not looking to good. I won't be able to get cham 1m till another day either...
I just wanted to ask thouppers thought a remedy would be more specific
for upper respiratory? His breathing heavy, excess salvia, red
throat....wouldn't he need a remedy to help just on that?
I thought merc sol could of helped him. It helped me once when I had a
really sore throat.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-06
I do have color 30c and Nux....they are both a bit old though.
He was once prescribed Coloc for wind pain and Nux for constipation.
Not sure what strength is the Nux though
If I did have all the remedies which remedy would you recommend though?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-06
I mean Coloc 30c
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-06
Just read your other message. I guess I will have to give him the
antibiotics and probably quit work. Cause childcare is just getting him sick.
I would really like to get a first aid kit though. This has really
thought us a lesson. I'll buy the 1m for another time.
Thanks for your support.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-06
As a health professional, sometimes I have to give the advice that I
think is in the best interests on the patient, even if this generally conflicts
with my homoeopathic philosophy.
I think quitting work is a huge step to take. It would be much easier
and less financially difficult to just cure him of his problems.
I know you may be frustrated, but we are working with a serious handicap
here. I cannot do many of the things I could do in person. It may be suitable
for me to refer you to someone who is in Sydney so that you can get the best
possible care.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-06
To be honest I don't think the situation would of been any different if
I had a homeopath in sydney. All the good homeopaths are in the city or noth
Sydney and I live in the western suburbs.
I think he has done better under your care than the last two
naturopaths/homeopath last year.
I understand it is harder not seeing the person, but I think that is
more for an emergency case. May be handy to know someone for those cases. But
any ongoing issues like teething and reflux, can very well be treated in this
manner.
I will look into purchasing a first aid kit.
In the mean time I guess I will continue with the antibiotics. However
with the Cham 1M, I will purchase to keep for later.
All night he has been waking up and needing to be rocked to sleep by
either rocking or bouncing up and down. Which both sound like Cham. He is also
dribbling a lot too.
I did want to know your opionon with Merc Sol though, I thought that
remedy is good for tonsillitis? Which is what the doc said he had.
As for going work, I may have found a temporary solution just for him to
grow up a bit more.
In the mean time my remedy has arrived, so would like to get back to
helping myself again.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-07
Oh no I actually had Cina 200 and 1m
I guess it's to late now
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-07
Don't give remedies for that reason. We have hundreds of remedies for
tonsillitis, including Chamomilla. The remedy must only be given when the
symptoms suit, not because someone somewhere said it would cure a named condition.
That is allopathy, not homoeopathy.
Just see how he sorts himself out after the antibiotics and we can make
a decision about where to go next.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-13
Hey David,
So my son is still not 100%. He finished the antibiotics Friday. But he
now has a hoarse cough. His also getting a lot of pimples on his face. He still
doesn't like being alone for a long period of time.
And today he is sneezing a lot. I mean a lot. Yesterday he was around a
dog and at the beach for the first time.
His still turned off food. He Use to love bread, now doesn't like it. Or
much food for that matter
What do you think is going on?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-13
The cough sounds dry, he coughs after playing around a bit.
I often wonder if it's his reflux causing him not to eat.
I have a paed appointment this Friday, so am interested to know how his
tracking
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-13
Unfortunately this is the price orthodox medicine asks us to pay for
their help. There is no increase in health, but a diminishment of it.
Ok well he is out of danger now, so lets get back to trying to find that
right remedy for him.
Can you describe the pimples
Descrie the sneezing
Describe the cough
Remember every symptom should be in the format:
1. what happens
2. when does it happen
3. what makes it worse
4. what makes it better
5. what triggers it
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-13
Pimples
What happens: he gets pimples around his cheeks, around his mouth and
forehead too
When does it happen: definitely the heat, if he has food around his
mouth, dribbling, sweat on forehead, salvia, change of environment
What makes it worse: his salvia, heat, sweat, food around his
mouth..perhaps dairy. Cause he does have a high dairy diet
What makes it better: cold water, the cold, moisturizing the face,
removing salvia around face, keeping him cool
What triggers it: I think heat and maybe dairy, maybe teething too
Sneezing:
What happens: the last two days he has been sneezing all day long. Not
sure if it's a cold or from being around a dog on Sunday or the beach was a bit
windy there. He actually has a bit of runny nose today.
when does it happen: it's been sparingly throughout the day, quite a lot
of sneezing through out the day
What makes it worse: we'll when he coughs he also sneezes after it
Not really sure what makes it better or worse at this stage, his never
sneezed this much
What triggers it: when he coughs he also sneezes after it. Change of
environment perhaps.
Cough:
What happens: his been coughing for the last 3 days. It sounds dry and
hoarse. He does sound chesty too. His voice doesn't sound 100% (I'm actually
going to the doctors today so he can tell me if his chest is clear or not)
When does it happen: it has been happening all day long sparingly,
however I notice if he is running around a bit he will stop to cough
What makes it worse: perhaps his reflux and high dairy diet
What makes it better: not really sure. I know Cina helped last time with
the hoarse cough
What triggers it: moving around a lot, maybe dairy too
He also has a bit of a runny nose today
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-13
It is important only to give me definite symptoms. I cannot use maybes.
If you are not sure, try to confirm it. If you cannot confirm it I won't use
it.
You can give me your reasons for believing it if you like, that way I
can try to judge the validity of it.
So are you saying his own saliva is causing a rash on his skin?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-13
Yes his own salvia is causing the rash, as well as heat/ humidity
The reason i say maybe dairy could be causing it, cause his diet is All
dairy. Cheese, yoghurt, eggs, milk
He is not eating anything else unfortunately.
But that is just what I think. I guess don't use it because I'm not 100%
it's just an instinct.
I do think his a little constipated, his stool has been a bit hard
lately. Not green though
And his nose is definitely congested with clear mucous running
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-13
Can you get hold of Allium cepa 30c?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-13
Yes I can get that tonight
How would like me to give it to him?
I really must get a homeopath first aid kit.
Do you recommend a place where I can get one? Otherwise I only know
newtons pharmacy and I can either tell them what want or i get their standard
kit. It's in pill form and dissolves under
the tongue they said.
What you think
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-13
For first aid/emergency situations you can just dissolve the pillules in
a glass of water, because you don't need to keep them for weeks or months to
redose.
So you can do that now too, rather than making a dosing bottle. This is
not a chronic prescription.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-14
Well I just called newtons and that remedy Allium Cepa is not part of
their standard first aid kit emergency. But they said I can always add it to
the kit.
So I dissolve one pillules in a cup of water and than give him a
teaspoon right?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-14
After stirring thoroughly yes.
All-c is one of our most commonly prescribed cold remedies - and they
don't include it?? Weird.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-14
Hi David,
They couldn't give us the pillules so my husband just bought the liquid
remedy.
Just one drop, in a cup and stir thoroughly and take one teaspoon?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-14
Hi David,
I gave my son only one drop yesterday, but he woke up a couple times last
night congested, runny nose, coughing, his voice sounds hoarse.
Should I have given him more. I need to go to work today and have a
babysitter for him, but just want to make sure I get him sorted before I leave.
Also the doctor said to me yesterday that his chest is clear and it just
seems his immune system is low. How can I build that up for him? Other than
food he doesn't eat anyway.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-14
It is an acute prescription, you will need to give him a dose every 2
hours, up to a maximum of 4 doses. Make sure you hit the bottle before placing
each drop in the water.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-16
Hi David,
Update on my son
He has watery eyes, still has a clear muscous leaking nose, the sneezing
has slowed down a bit. But he keeps rubbing his eyes and face. He still has a
cough too.
His stool is still hard.
Am I okay to keep giving him doses today?
It is looking seasonal allergy according to our baby sitter at home.
This thread continues beneath the following ad.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-16
If you gave him all 4, then no you must stop. Don't overdose him. If the
remedy is right those 4 doses will be enough. If it is not you will just create
side effects.
That doesn't sound like much has happened by using it.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-16
Oh okay
Well in that case not much improvement. The watery eyes is a new symtom
as well as rubbing the eyes and face.
What do you think?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-16
He is proving the remedy I think. Stop all remedies for a day and let's
see how he goes.
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-17
Hey David,
I went to see my sons paed today and he did say to me it looks like he
caught something viral at the childcare and perhaps antibiotics was not needed.
Lesson learnt for next time.
However just a concern that I would like you to treat instead.
In relation to his cough he did say to me he may have a bit of asthma,
where the passage way gets inflamed. It could be seasonal, or when his paying around
a lot. He gave me a ventolin for him to give to him on the odd occassion. But
of course I don't want to give him orthodox medication.bWhat do you suggest?
Also his is not itching his eyes, or face today. He had a bit of a
running nose this morning but he seems okay now. Besides the cough he does
still sound a bit congested
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From brisbanehomoeopath on 2012-02-17
So he is better today compared to yesterday? Then it is likely he had
too much of the All-c. When did he develop the new symptoms compared to when he
started the remedy?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-17
Yes he is better today than yesterday.
Symtoms before remedy:
Sneezing
Coughing
Runny/congested nose
Pimples
Turned off food/ drink
Constipation
New symtoms after remedy:
Watery eyes
Itching of faces
Symtoms remaining:
A bit of runny/ congested nose
Cough is still a bit there, Cough sounds hoarse and flamie
pimples are still there but have improved
he did have a bad nappy today it spelt like rotten eggs and had a touch
of green in it, but not too green
He does seem to be all respiratory issue related. Do you think he still
needs developing in that area?
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-17
another thing David,
He is still hiccuping. Today he hiccuped 3 times. Tends to happen when
he eats a bit more or after an hr or so from milk
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-17
He just had dinner and had hiccups straight after it too
Not sure why this keeps happening to him
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-02-21
David,
This could be another reason why my back is killing me
For the last few days I've had to rock my son to sleep morning, day and
evening. I'm not sure why. When I put him in his cot he arches his back and
cries and wants me to rock him some more. I feel like we are
going back to the days when he was only a few months old.
Symptoms left:
He has been vomiting a bit lately again, he vomited twice today
He has a bit of leaky nose too
His bottom two teeth are out
Needs to be Rocked to sleep
He sounds congested and flamie
Re: 6 month old baby with dermatitis / Eczema From VenessaM on 2012-03-04
Hello
Was wondering if someone would help in David's Absence
My sensitive baby boy seems to be constipated. His also been waking up a
lot throughout the night tossing and turnung these last 2 nights and I've had
to give him panadol. It could be because of his teeth
David has treated him in the past for his reflux.
My son does occassional cough from time to time, his specialist thinks
its not related to the reflux but he could get inflamed Passage ways
(asthma)and his specialist prescribed him a ventolin for when this occurs.
But of course I rather treat him with homeopath.
If someone though can pls help him with his constipation
Thanks
