Adrenalin action is stimulation of the sympathetic nerve endings
Its chief therapeutic use depends on its vaso-constriction action;
therefore a most powerful and prompt astringent and haemostatic.
Hemorrhagic condition not due to defective coagulation of the blood.
Therapeutically, Adrenalin has been suggested in acute congestion of
lungs, Asthma, Grave’s and Addison’s diseases, arterio-sclerosis, chronic
aortitis, angina pectoris, haemophilia, chlorosis, hay fever, serum rashes,
acute urticaria, etc.
Adrenalinum or Epinephrine, the active principle of the medulla of the
suprarenal gland, (cortical secretion not as yet isolated), is employed as a
chemical messenger in the regulation of the activities of the body; in fact,
its presence is essential to the activity of the sympathetic nerve. Adrenalin
action on any part is the same as Stimulation of
the sympathetic nerve endings thereto. Local application (1:1,000
solution) to mucous membranes promptly induces transient ischaemia, seen in a
Blanching, persisting several hours from conjunctival instillation. Its action
is very prompt, efficient, Evanescent, owing to rapid oxidation and therefore
practically harmless, UNLESS too frequently repeated, when atheroma and heart
lesions - myocardial - in animals have been reported. Arteries, heart,
suprarenal bodies and vasomotor system are prominently affected.
The main action of Adrenalinum is stimulation of the Sympathetic
endings, notably the splanchnic area, causing Constriction of the peripheral
arterioles, with resulting Rise in blood pressure. This is especially observed
in stomach, intestines; less in uterus, skin; nil in brain and lungs.
Furthermore, is noticed, Slowing of pulse, (medullary vagus stimulation), and
Strengthening of heart beat (increased myocardial contractility), resembling
Digitalis; increased glandular activity, glycosuria; depression of respiratory
center; contraction of muscular tissue of eye, uterus, vagina; relaxation of
muscular tissue
of stomach, intestines, bladder.
Its chief therapeutic use depends on its Vasoconstriction action;
therefore a most powerful and prompt Astringent and hemostatic, and invaluable
in Checking capillary hemorrhages from ALL parts, where LOCAL or direct
application is feasible: nose, ear, mouth, throat, larynx, stomach, rectum,
uterus, bladder. Hemorrhagic condition not due to defective coagulation of the
blood. Complete Bloodlessness, ischaemia, may be induced with impunity.
Locally, solutions (1:10,000 - 1:1,000) sprayed or applied on cotton have been
very efficient in bloodless operations about the eye, nose, throat, and larynx.
Congestions of the ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses, also hay fever, have
been markedly alleviated by warm spray of Adrenalinum chloride, 1: 5,000. Here
compare, Hepar 1X, which will start up secretions and so facilitate drainage.
Werlhoff’s disease, hypodermically, 1:1,000. Externally used in neuritis,
neuralgia, reflex pains, gout, rheuma, as an ointment, 1-2 m. of (1:1,000)
solution, along the nerve trunk at point of skin nearest its origin which could
be reached (H. G. Carlton).
Therapeutically, Adrenalinum has been suggested in acute congestion of
lungs, Asthma, Grave’s and Addison’s diseases, arteriosclerosis, chronic
aortitis, angina pectoris, hemophilia, chlorosis, hay fever, serum rashes,
acute urticaria, etc. Dr. P. Jousset reports success in treating, homeopathically,
cases of angina and or aortitis, sub-acute and chronic, when Adrenalin has been
prescribed Per OS and in infinitesimal dose. The symptom guiding to this is,
Sensation of thoracic constriction with anguish. This, with vertigo, nausea and
vomiting have been produced by the drug. Abdominal pain. shock or heart failure
during anesthesia, as it causes very prompt rise of blood pressure by
its action on nerve endings in the vessel wall.
Caution. - On account of its affinity for oxygen, the drug easily
decomposes in watery and dilute acid solutions. The solution must be protected
from air and light. It must
not be too frequently repeated, owing to cardiac and arterial lesions.
[Susanne M. Grabherr]
[Y.R. Agrawal]
Adrenalin: On account of its affinity for oxygen, the drug easily
decomposes in water and dilute acid solutions. The solution must be protected
from air and light. It must
not be too frequently repeated owing to cardiac and arterial lesions. For
homoeopathic use, 2x to 6x potencies are better. 6x in passive haemorrhage.
3th, 6th and 12th centesimal dilution
in high arterial blood pressure and in arteriosclerosis.
[Dr. P. Jousset]
Success in treating, homoeopathically, cases of angina +/o. aortitis,
sub-acute and chronic.
Guiding symptom: Sensation of thoracic constriction with anguish. This,
with vertigo, nausea and vomiting have been produced by the drug.
Abdominal pain. Shock or heart failure during anesthesia, as it causes
very prompt rise of blood pressure by its action on nerve endings in the vessel
wall;
It is the active principle of the medulla of the suprarenal gland. Its
presence is essential to the activities of the sympathetic nerve. It stimulate
the sympathetic nerve, causing constriction of the peripheral nerves resulting
in rise in blood pressure and showing down of pulses strengthening of heart
beat. Therapeutically it is a powerful astringent
and thermostatic & is invaluable in checking capillary hemorrhages
from all parts, where the local or direct application is feasible. Hemorrhagic
condition is not due to the defective coagulation.
It is indicated in acute congestion of lungs, Asthma, Graves disease,
Addison’s disease, chronic aortitis, angina, hemophilia, chlorosis, hay fever,
serum sickness.
It is effective in angina and aortitis when there is a sensation of
thoracic constriction anguish. Ass with vertigo, nausea and vomiting, Abdominal
pain. Shock or heart
failure during anesthesia as it cases rise in blood pressure by acting
on nerve ending in vessel wall;

Adrenalinum is most likely a much
needed medicine being such an intrinsic part of human chemistry. The adrenal
gland kicks in when a person feels under threat or over excited, allowing the
body to react quickly and intensely. When people constantly feel in this state
due to chronic stress and the wound-up modern condition, it can lead
to adrenal depletion, the adrenal
gland becoming overworked, leading to a corresponding depletion in energy and
the classic burnt-out state of chronic fatigue and associated states. So one
could see Adrenalinum for people who are either forever in a hyped up state,
always on the go, impatient, irritable, living life to the full, but feeling
always
on the edge: and also on the other
side, having gone over the edge into exhaustion, so-called chronic fatigue-type
conditions in which they are both depleted yet also highly sensitive and easily
overstimulated. One may see a history of extreme shock or fright, indicating
such medicines as Acon. Op. and Stram. and since then they have remained
in a state of fear/fright, even if suppressed. In these cases, people may be easily agitated and upset, always thinking the shocking experience will happen again at any time. Over time, this wound-up state leads to exhaustion. It is seen to work clinically in high blood pressure and migraines, and mentally in cases where there are profound anxiety attacks and deep stress. Comparative medicines include Acon. Arg-n. Ars. Cocain. Iod. Nux-v. Rhus t. Sep. and the various Acids.
[Stramonium]
The effect of stramonium is that one becomes “as blind
as a bat, mad as a hatter, red as a beet, hot as a hare, dry as a bone, the bowel
and bladder lose their tone, and the heart runs alone” - all signs of an adrenaline
rush that may occur with terror or violent anger.

Organotherapie:
[Dr. J. Rozencwajg, NMD]
Glycyrrhiza Glabra
Hepatic inactivation of glucocorticoids. It has known aldosterone-like
effects, hence contra-indicated in patients with high blood pressure or
imbalanced potassium.
Although it does not seem to have a direct stimulant or repair action on
the adrenals, its use is justified in as much as it allows the weaning of
extraneous cortisone administration which is often the major factor in adrenal
malfunction; and when there is no drug induced problem, Glycyrrhiza is an
adequate substitute to deficient endogenous cortisone secretion without
depressing the function of the adrenals, therefore providing at the same time a
clinical symptomatic improvement and the ability
to regenerate the gland itself.
Borago Officinalis
This is one of the herbs that has traditionally been recommended “to
strengthen adrenal glands weakened by intake of steroids” (Bartram); yet when
looking up the literature, there are no studies found to explain the mechanism
of action. Nevertheless I trust tradition and have used it in association with
good results.
Dioscorea Villosa
Traditionally used in adrenal exhaustion, its indication is backed by
the content in diosgenin, structurally similar to cholesterol and a precursor
for the synthesis of hormones.
Here the mechanism of action can be understood as being the provision of
a specific building material directly to the adrenal gland.
Centella Asiatica (= Gotu Kola)
Adaptogenic remedy and nervine tonic. The PDR for Herbal Remedies describes
it as having anti-inflammatory and anti-neoplastic effects, acting on the
venous tone, and being a wounded healer.
Astragalus Membranaceus
Well known for its immune-enhancement and anti-viral properties, Is an adaptogenic
that enhances growth and metabolism, improves learning and memory.
