A collection of stones

The stone remedies present certain themes that are similar to, but different from mineral remedies. The following is a collection of cases wherein these themes become apparent: one case of White marble, two cases of Amethyst, one case of Apatite and two cases of Aquamarine. By recognizing the themes of the stones, then understanding the specific characteristics in the case, we can find relatively unknown stone remedies.

[Vanessa Parrado Lobo]

1. Rocks and Gem stones: an introduction to formation; history, religion & medicine

1a. Transformation cycle of rocks and formation of gems in term definition

2. Magma: Molten rock material that forms igneous rocks upon cooling. Magma that reaches the surface is referred to as lava.

Igneous rock: A rock formed by congealing rapidly or slowly from a molten state. This forms sediment. These are generally very hard. These are liquid lava rocks underground.

Igneous rock = born of fire. It’s a solidified rock.

Sedimentation: is the process of deposition of mineral grains or precipitates in beds or other accumulations. Here comes sedimentary rock from.

Sedimentary rock: A rock formed by the accumulation and cementation of mineral grains transported by wind, water, or ice to the site of deposition or chemically precipitated at

the depositional site, built layers on layers. Many years of slow build up. Fossils clear prove sedimentary - here we look for history of rocks, made gently enough to preserve living

things.

They are easy to tear apart. Cooling or breaking down process. Impressions and experiences built up over a longer period of time. This is the opposite of igneous rocks.

• Shale or mudstone is made of tiny particles of clay. It forms in the sea bottom.

Metamorphic rock: These are what happen when sedimentary and igneous rocks become changed, or metamorphosed, by conditions underground. The four main agents that

metamorphose rocks are heat, pressure, fluids and strain. These agents can act and interact in an infinite variety of ways. As a result, most of the thousands of rare minerals known to

science occur in metamorphic ("shape-changed") rocks.

The fiery element is important in all the gems, fire melds down to basic form. The heat can bring about sudden change.

• Marble: lime stone turns into marble.

• Gneiss: (pronounced nice) is a typical metamorphic rock type, in which a sedimentary or igneous rock has been deeply buried and subjected to high temperatures and pressures.

• Migmatite: it is partly melted. This is an extreme example of metamorphism, like putting gneiss through a taffy-puller.

Crystals (gems) are formed when igneous rocks (born of fire) and sedimentary rocks (sandstone that contains water) meet. The result of this meeting is nothing like the original

substances, a big transformation takes place.

Crystals: are homogenous solid formed by a repeating, three-dimensional pattern of atoms, ions, or molecules and having fixed distances between constituent parts.

A crystal is a mineral, especially a transparent form of quartz, having a crystalline structure, often characterized by external planar faces.

Notes from Peter Tumminello’s seminar The Hague 6-7 May 2005

 http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=crystals

Characteristics of crystal structures:

Crystals can’t be seen with the naked eye.

• Crystals are formed through tension and pressure.

• Andesite: have small crystals very small volcanic.

• Plutonic: have bigger crystals.

• Pegmatite: have very large crystals. Where most crystals form, hot magma comes in contact with water (fluid) then crystals start to form. Brought up by slow cooling.

Rock identification tables

These tables will help you identify almost any rock you're likely to find. First determine whether your rock is igneous, sedimentary or metamorphic.

The quick way to tell is:

• Igneous: little texture or layering; mostly black, white and/or grey minerals; may look like lava.

• Sedimentary: layers of sandy or clayey rock (strata); tends to split along layers; mostly brown or grey; may have fossils and water or wind marks.

• Metamorphic: layers of light and dark minerals (foliation), often wavy; various colours; glittery from mica.

Then start in the left column of the appropriate table and work your way a cross. Follow the links to pictures and more information. If you don't find a match, try another

of the three big types.

Grain Size has two values: "coarse" grains are visible, and the minerals can usually be identified using a magnifier; "fine" grains are invisible to the naked eye and cannot

Be identified with a magnifier. The cut-off is about 0.1 millimetres, between sand size and silt size.

Hardness has three values: "hard" rock scratches glass, which usually signifies the minerals quartz or feldspar (Mohs hardness 6-7 and up);

"soft" rock does not scratch glass but scratches fingernails (Mohs 3-5); "very soft" rock can be scratched with a fingernail (Mohs 1-2).

All igneous rocks are hard.

Lithotherapie

3e Prinzip: Die Mineralstoffe beschreiben was der Stein eigentlich bewirkt.

    Falsche Farbabstimmung

    Mangelnde Qualität

    Zu viele Steine

    Nicht adäquates Umfeld

    Elektrosmog

    Schlechte Ernährung

    Hemmende Medikamente (Psychopharmaka, Chemotherapie)

[Sankaran]

The mineral kingdom is characterized by structure and organization and that these themes can be seen in individuals work, relationships, dressing, speech, handwriting etc.

He suggests that they tend to wear clothes that have symmetrical patterns, stripes or are plain; their handwriting is very neat and structured;

they present their complaints in a systematic manner and they speak in an organized manner in a monotonous tone. These characteristics are due to the structured thought

process of the person’s mind (2005b:293 - 295). Such individuals choose professions that require these qualities such as engineering, accountancy and management (1999:316).

These mineral themes can also be shown through the role that individuals from the mineral kingdom seek for themselves. Their role will also have the themes of structure and order.

For example Aur-met. will take responsibility for others, as they see their role as providing a supporting structure for others. Whatever the chosen role, the characteristics of order, organization

and efficiency will be apparent (Sankaran, 2005b:295).

According to Sankaran, the periodic table contains elements that exist in an ordered, structured relationship to each other.

He suggests that as the elements progress across the periodic table from Hydrogen to Radon, the elements become progressively heavier and more complex. Eventually, the complexity and

heaviness of the structure results in its own destruction. The atoms becomes so heavy that their inner structure can no longer be held together resulting in physical disintegration, as seen in the

radioactive gas, Radon. Therefore, the ordered structure of the whole periodic table represents a journey from a simple, light  beginning (first few rows of the periodic table), through progressive development and possibilities (middle row), to increasing heaviness and complexity, which ultimately results in disintegration and decay (sixth and seven rows) (Sankaran, 2011:87).

A connection between the periodic table and human development as the development of each row corresponds to the stages in human development (Sankaran, 2005b:297). This occurs from

conception or the beginning of existence to death (Sankaran, 2007 a :35), with each row of the periodic table showing the rise and fall of their respective issues (Weston, 2010:23).

A patient might require a mineral remedy if they feel ‘stuck’ in a particular stage of development (Sankaran, 2007:35).

Unlike the other kingdoms, a mineral person will see problems within themselves and not with the opposite person. Problems can arise when there is a lack or loss of structure or function.

People requiring a mineral remedy are affected by breaks in relationships, financial losses or failure in their performance as such events affect the integrity of their structure.

The reaction to the break in structure is to make up for the lack or loss by trying to complete, conserve or maintain the structure that they have.

They may also become strong, systematic and calculating (Sankaran, 2005b: 289 - 296).

Sankaran decided to further sub classify the mineral kingdom to be more specific. He classified the mineral kingdom into metals, cations, anions, salts and acids. The main theme in the metal

group is related to performance and defence. For example, the remedies from the fourth row are more associated with defence than performance while the remedies in the fifth row are more

associated with performance than defence. The theme in the cation group is a need for relationships, either forming relationships or needing support. The main theme in the anion group is to

make an effort to maintain or keep a relationship. The features of salts are based on the two constituent elements that are interacting with each other. From the two constituents, the cation needs

to form a relationship, while the anion is concerned with maintaining a relationship.

The acid group associated 1. with a period of struggle, 2. collapse and exhaustion. The acid of an element represents a constant struggle in the situation of that element (Sankaran, 2005b: 49 - 50).

[Bhawisha Joshi]

    * Tragen von Schmucksteinen

    * Verwenden von Handschmeichlern

    * Einspeicheln der Steine, oft mit anschließendem Einführen in Körperöffnungen

    * Einlegen in Öl mit anschließender Massage von erkrankten Körperpartien

    * Anwendung von Pulver (in Wein gelöst)

    * Gebete und Bannsprüche bei der Anwendung von Steinen.
